Description
Nurikabe Nyoubou is the wife of the wall-shaped yōkai Nurikabe in Gegege no Kitarō. She appears in the fifth anime series, which aired in 2007, where she and her twelve children make up what is known as the Nurikabe family. Although the family is visible in the series opening animation from the beginning, she is properly introduced in the thirteenth episode, titled Hard Work! Nurikabe the Bodyguard (奮闘！ぬりかべ用心棒).
In appearance, she resembles her husband, taking the form of a large, wall-like yōkai with simple facial features, though she is somewhat smaller than him. Her body is notably pink in color, which distinguishes her from the usual gray of her husband.
Her personality is depicted as caring and devoted, centered on her husband and children. In the episode where she is introduced, Nurikabe takes on dangerous work as a bodyguard in order to support the household, and she is shown as a supportive wife and mother.
