Its core ability involves body stealing: Yobuko switches bodies with individuals who make wishes to Orochi, trapping them in its original form while assuming their identity. For example, in the 2018 anime, the human Fujio Saitō, driven by greed and selfish wishes, becomes the new Yobuko trapped at Mt. Oguro after his body is stolen. A distinct variant called the Fake Yobuko appears in the 1985 anime adaptation, possessing shape-shifting capabilities to extend its lower body for offense, differing from the typical immobilized form.
