Description
Lacus Clyne, daughter of PLANT Supreme Council Chairman Siegel Clyne, was born a Coordinator. Later revelations identified her as an Accord, a variant possessing enhanced mental capabilities beyond standard Coordinators. She began as a pop idol within PLANT, leveraging her singing career to promote her father's moderate political stance and messages of peace between Coordinators and Naturals. An early arranged political engagement to Athrun Zala evolved into friendship over time.

Her trajectory shifted dramatically during the First Alliance-PLANT War. Rescued by Kira Yamato following an Earth Alliance attack, she formed a bond with him aboard the Archangel despite their opposing factions. This encounter propelled her into active conflict resolution. After assisting Kira's theft of the Freedom Gundam to protect his friends, she and her father were declared traitors by ZAFT. Following her father's assassination, she commandeered the battleship Eternal and co-founded the Three Ships Alliance, uniting disparate groups to end the war. Her relationship with Kira deepened into romantic commitment, culminating in her gifting him her mother's ring before the final battle.

Post-war, she lived discreetly with Kira at Reverend Malchio's orphanage in the Marshall Islands until new hostilities forced her return to public life. An assassination attempt orchestrated by Coordinators prompted her to rejoin former allies and mobilize against escalating conflicts. She traveled to space to assess PLANT's political situation and facilitated the delivery of the advanced Strike Freedom and Infinite Justice mobile suits to Kira and Athrun. During this period, she publicly exposed ZAFT's use of Meer Campbell, an impersonator exploiting her image for propaganda. She also revealed Gilbert Durandal's controversial Destiny Plan, which sought to impose social order through genetic behavioral predetermination, and led the Terminal faction in opposing it.

After the events of SEED Destiny, she mediated between ZAFT and other nations and briefly served on the PLANT Supreme Council. Later, she became the inaugural director-general of Compass, an international peacekeeping organization proposed by Cagalli Yula Athha and jointly established by Orb, the Atlantic Federation, and ZAFT. During the Foundation Conflict, she co-piloted the ZGMF/A-262PD-P Mighty Strike Freedom Gundam alongside Kira. She faced a personal challenge from Foundation representative Orphee Lam Tao, who attempted to coerce her into accepting a predetermined partnership role aligned with Foundation ideology; she firmly rejected his advances and worldview. Post-conflict, she and Kira departed the battlefield together, later appearing on a beach in Orb.

Her personality blends gentle, idealistic pacifism with keen political acumen. Initially perceived as naive, she demonstrates strategic thinking and decisive leadership, utilizing her public image and diplomatic skills to influence events. She consistently advocates peace and reconciliation between Coordinators and Naturals, viewing war as a cyclical tragedy born from human hatred and retaliation. She possesses SEED mode abilities, enhancing tactical coordination and enabling mental synchronization with other SEED users like Kira. She has distinctive pink hair and is frequently accompanied by her Haro robots, especially a willful pink model.
