Pollun is the Prince of Light from the Garden of Light. Sent to aid the Pretty Cure warriors in the latter half of the original Futari wa Pretty Cure series, he possesses a self-centered personality, often focusing on his own interests. His speech typically ends with "-popo" in Japanese. Initially living with Nagisa Misumi, his perceived selfishness frequently leads to conflicts with both Nagisa and Mepple.

Within Futari wa Pretty Cure Max Heart, Pollun relocates to live with Hikari Kujou. Functionally, he transforms into the Touch Commune, a device enabling Hikari's transformation into Shiny Luminous, marking a significant shift toward a supportive role.

The narrative later introduces Lulun, the Princess of Light capable of connecting with future events. She resides with Pollun and Hikari, viewing Pollun as an older brother and frequently engaging in behavior that annoys him, adding complexity to Pollun's relationships beyond the main Cures.

Pollun's powers primarily involve granting and facilitating transformations. In the original series, he provides the Rainbow Bracelets to Cure Black and Cure White, enabling their enhanced Rainbow Storm attack. In Max Heart, his ability to become the Touch Commune remains essential for Shiny Luminous's transformation, emphasizing this supportive function over direct combat.
