Description
Marucho Marukura, whose full name is Choji Marukura, is a main character from the anime Bakugan Battle Brawlers: New Vestroia. He serves as the Battle Brawlers’ primary Aquos brawler and is known as the brain of the group, a walking encyclopedia of Bakugan knowledge and strategy. Coming from a wealthy family, Marucho is generous and deeply passionate about Bakugan battles. In his early appearances, he was extremely obedient to his parents out of fear, but his involvement with the Brawlers helped him grow past that, though he remains a respectful and polite person. In the Japanese version, he speaks in a formal keigo accent.
During New Vestroia, Marucho follows his friend Dan Kuso into the new world after learning about the Vestal invasion. He joins the Bakugan Brawlers Resistance, a group fighting to free Bakugan from the Vestal Vexos. Because his original partner Bakugan, Preyas, was captured by the Vestals, Marucho sets out on his own to find a new partner and eventually bonds with Elfin, an Aquos Bakugan who later evolves into Minx Elfin. Marucho’s role in the Resistance is that of a tactical analyst; he studies opponents’ patterns, devises combination plays, and uses data to guide his team. His approach to battling emphasizes careful planning, though he sometimes misjudges when making snap decisions based solely on numbers.
