Miu Furinji is the granddaughter of Hayato Furinji and daughter of Saiga and Shizuha Furinji, belonging to the martial arts lineages of the Furinji and Kuremisago Clans. After her mother died in battle during her infancy and her father vanished, her grandfather raised her. Constant travel and rigorous martial arts training under him dominated her childhood, leaving little room for social development or friendships. Physically, she is a fair-skinned teenage girl of average height with a slender, athletically defined build. Her bright blue eyes, beauty mark under her left eye, and waist-length blonde hair are distinctive. She possesses a curvaceous figure with well-endowed breasts, a slim waist, flared hips, and shapely legs. Initially at school, she wore non-corrective glasses and braided her hair to downplay her appearance and avoid peer jealousy over her looks, athleticism, and academics. Accused of inauthenticity by Chikage Kushinada, she abandoned these, wearing her hair freely without glasses. She typically dons a purple spandex outfit at home, often covered by sweaters or aprons, and always wears two red hair clips from her mother—one hiding a blade, the other a lockpick. When brainwashed into "Bulu," her hair turns unkempt, eyes emotionless, and she wears a light blue Tidat outfit with a bird mask, leg guards, and no footwear or undergarments. Despite her traumatic past, Miu displays a cheerful, kind-hearted, and polite demeanor. She handles most household chores at Ryozanpaku and cares deeply for others. Her upbringing ingrained reflexive combat instincts, causing her to automatically throw anyone approaching from behind—a recurring comedic trait. She obsesses over Ryozanpaku’s financial instability, becoming fiercely pragmatic: pressuring masters to teach for income, urging Kenichi to sell battle medals, or claiming defeated foes’ valuables as spoils. Socially, her isolated childhood left her with low self-esteem and naivety. She initially struggled to make friends and overvalues her connections, becoming distressed by perceived disapproval. Ordinary activities spark childlike excitement, like forgetting tasks to admire an aquarium or longing for a merry-go-round. She adores cats, often fixating on feline traits in others. If friends are harmed, she enters an uncontrollable berserker state requiring physical intervention—like incapacitation or groping her breasts—to subdue. This violent alter ego, fueled by her Dou Ki style, terrifies her due to fears of causing unintended harm. Romantically, she is a shy idealist. She eagerly observes others’ relationships but flusters over her feelings for Kenichi Shirahama, whom she met after transferring to Koryo High. Initially oblivious to his affection, she shows possessiveness when girls approach him, blushes at his declarations, and tearfully hugs him after life-threatening events. Her feelings deepen: she kisses his cheek, grows more energetic around him, and eventually acknowledges her love, vowing to die for him and trusting him completely. By the series’ end, she marries him, becoming Miu Shirahama. A central arc involves uncovering her parents’ history. Raised without answers about her father’s disappearance or mother’s death, she nearly joined Yami for truth. She deduced her father was Saiga, leader of Yami’s One Shadow, and confronted him. When he falsely confessed to murdering her mother, she attacked him lethally. Later revelations exposed Senzui of the Kuremisago Clan as the true culprit who framed Saiga. This allowed Miu to reconcile with her father and accept his love. Martially, Miu is a hybrid fighter nearing expert level. Trained by her grandfather since early childhood and exposed to Ryozanpaku’s diverse disciplines, her core style blends Furinji techniques with acrobatic, kick-centric movements. She exhibits exceptional agility, reflexes, and analytical combat skills, sparring effortlessly with Kenichi and defeating most opponents easily. Training under Silcardo Jenazard during brainwashing advanced her abilities. She instinctively counters ambushes and has never been struck by Kenichi in sparring—though his refusal to hit women may contribute. Her signature technique is the Seikūken, an invisible defensive barrier.
