Capable of deploying Interpol troops or the Red Impulse squadron against Galactor, he typically did so only when the Science Ninja Team was unavailable. His leadership responsibilities expanded after Director Anderson's death, leading to his appointment as head of the ISO during the events of Gatchaman Fighter. Nambu formed and guided the Science Ninja Team, developing their unique Science Ninja Technique martial art system. He personally raised Ken Washio following the disappearance of Ken's father, Kentarou, who later resurfaced as Red Impulse. Similarly, he rescued Joe Asakura after Galactor assassinated Joe's parents, concealing Joe's survival with a falsified death certificate under "George Asakura." The ISO remained unaware of his direct involvement in raising the team members, causing surprise when security encountered them in civilian attire.
