Description
Chaos hails from Sri Lanka and serves as an executive in the criminal Secret Society (Himitsu Kessha), sharing equal rank with Gaia and Uranus. His imposing frame stands at 235 cm tall yet weighs only 70 kg, creating a gaunt silhouette. He wields a scythe alongside the legendary Genbu no Tate shield—the Black Tortoise, one of the Four Sacred Arms.
Seeking amplified power, Uranus nominated Chaos for the abandoned S-Project, an experiment to artificially enhance human capabilities. While the procedure succeeded in elevating his combat prowess, it shattered his psyche irreparably, plunging him into complete insanity. Despite this fracture, he retained his high-ranking status. When Gaia rebelled, Uranus branded Gaia a traitor and brainwashed Chaos into executing him.
After the Secret Society collapsed, Uranus’s mental grip on Chaos dissolved. Freed yet sensing a new threat—the Organization—Chaos pursued his own mission. He eliminated Schultz, a master ritualist during the third Toshinden tournament, and aided the Organization’s downfall. His fractured mind, however, found no satisfaction; battle became merely a game, driven solely by the ecstasy of combat and killing. Emotionally detached, he felt neither joy nor sorrow from victories or enemies’ destruction.
In the OVA, Chaos operates under Lady Uranus’s direct command. He first emerges at the climax of the initial tournament, seemingly slain by Gaia. A year later, he resurfaces alongside Sho, hunting former tournament fighters like Fo Fai, Rungo Iron, and Mondo on Uranus’s orders. Ambushing Ellis, Chaos deploys poison-tipped darts. Gaia intervenes, but Ellis intercepts the darts and is poisoned. Chaos retreats to Uranus’s stronghold, anticipating Gaia’s pursuit for the antidote. During the ensuing assault, Gaia, Eiji Shinjo, and Kayin Amoh confront and destroy him.
