Description
Andy appears solely in the anime adaptation's two-part episode "All Hell Breaks Loose". Kidnapped by the Yellow-Eyed Demon alongside other psychics, he awakens in the abandoned town of Cold Oak, South Dakota. Andy displays a friendly, approachable demeanor upon meeting Sam Winchester, showing less hostility than the other captives and quickly establishing rapport.
His telepathic abilities allow him to transmit thoughts and images directly into another person's mind. He demonstrates this by touching an object Dean Winchester handled, projecting images of Sam's location to Dean across a considerable distance. This long-range projection causes Andy physical strain, manifesting as a severe headache. During tense group interactions, Andy attempts lighthearted humor about his powers to ease the situation, though it falls flat with some.
Actively participating in survival efforts, Andy assists Sam in freeing Ava Wilson from a locked woodshed. He later provides bags of salt for the group to create protective barriers on the town bar's doorways and window sills. He joins searches for missing members like Lily and accompanies Sam and Jake to look for Ava. Returning alone to the bar, he encounters Ava, who deliberately broke a salt line on a window sill. She summons an Acheri demon that physically attacks Andy, clawing his chest and causing his death. Sam discovers Andy's body afterward.
This anime portrayal streamlines Andy's character relative to the live-action version. Omitted details include his background involving adoption, his twin brother Ansem Weems, and his history of using powers for minor personal gain or recreational marijuana. His abilities are simplified to telepathy and mental projection, excluding broader mind control from the original series. His role remains confined to the Cold Oak events without earlier appearances or character development.
