Maika Hokke is the third of five sisters: Otone, Yoku, herself, Kanashi, and Utano. After their parents' death, the impoverished sisters pursue a villainous legacy tied to their parents' former evil organization. An imp named Akumako, freed from a sealed vase, reveals their latent special powers and directs them to form the Gedou Otome Tai (Heretic Girls Squad), a magical girl team dedicated to evil deeds.

Despite their intentions, Maika and her sisters consistently perform actions that accidentally help others, leading to their mistaken identity as heroes. Within the team, Maika displays a refined demeanor, including an aristocratic "ohohoho" laugh, contrasting with their impoverished existence. She participates in the group's misguided schemes, such as attempting to invade an evil broadcast station or encountering kaiju at the beach, plans which persistently result in unintentionally positive outcomes.

The sisters wield elemental-based abilities; Maika specifically commands fire powers.
