Lafiel is a central character in the science fiction anime series Seikai no Monshō (Crest of the Stars) and its sequel installments, including the Special Edition recap movie. She is a young member of the Abh, a genetically engineered human subspecies adapted for life in space, and belongs to the imperial Abriel family as the granddaughter of the reigning empress. Her full ceremonial title is Viscountess Paryunu Abriel Nei Dobrusk Lafiel, though she prefers to be called simply by her given name.
