Description
Hayato Kazami, a 14-year-old thrust into the world of high-speed competition, accidentally bonds with the AI-equipped Asurada GSX after thwarting thieves, irreversibly locking his data into the system. Compelled to join the Sugo team despite no prior racing experience, he rapidly earns a Super License, becoming Cyber Formula’s youngest competitor. His 2015 debut season sees early hurdles—a retirement at the U.S. Grand Prix—but culminates in a British Grand Prix victory, securing his first championship with three wins and six podiums.

Defending his title in 2016 (chronicled in "11"), Hayato grapples with mounting pressure, clashing fiercely with rival Knight Schumacher (Osamu Sugo), who re-enters the sport with aggressive tactics. Overcoming setbacks, Hayato claims four victories and a second championship after a tense final race against Schumacher, whose impaired vision heightens the stakes. The "ZERO" arc delivers a pivotal crash in the British Grand Prix’s "Zero Zone," sidelining him with severe injuries. Supported by childhood friend Asuka Sugo, he conquers psychological trauma, returning at the French Grand Prix to master the Zero Zone technique.

In "SAGA," Hayato confronts the bio-computer threat Al-Zard and Nagumo’s enhanced drivers, battling mechanical failures to seize his third championship and the moniker "young emperor of the circuit." The "SIN" arc ignites a fierce rivalry with Jōtarō Kaga, whose unorthodox strategies push Hayato to his limits. Though narrowly defeated in the 2022 championship, Hayato’s legacy endures post-retirement as Kaga departs for Indy, while he continues racing.

Evolving from a brash, impulsive teen to a composed strategist, Hayato’s early recklessness sparks team tensions during slumps. Post-injury, he embraces calm precision, prioritizing mental resilience. His unwavering determination and loyalty shine through, with romantic ties solely to Asuka, whom he marries by "SIN’s" conclusion. Mastery of advanced maneuvers like Inertial Drift and Lifting Turn under extreme pressure cements his reputation as a tactical virtuoso on the track.
