Renato Novara is an Italian voice actor and musician, born in Turin on January 21, 1977. Initially aspiring to a career as a singer, he pursued training in theater and later enrolled in a dubbing course at O.D.S. (Organizzazione Doppiatori Specializzati) in Milan. He graduated in communication sciences in 2003 while simultaneously studying acting and singing and participating in various theatrical productions. Since 2005, he has worked full-time as a voice actor for the major dubbing studios in Milan and Rome.

Novara is widely recognized for his extensive work in anime, where he has voiced some of the most iconic protagonists. He is the current Italian voice of Monkey D. Luffy in the long-running series One Piece, having taken over the role from episode 256 onward and appearing in numerous subsequent films. He also voices Tanjiro Kamado in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba and its film, the Mugen Train. Another major role is Edward Elric in all iterations of Fullmetal Alchemist, including both anime series and related films. He is the voice of Tsubasa Ōzora in the modern Captain Tsubasa series. His other notable anime roles include Choji Akimichi in Naruto and Naruto: Shippuden, Kurapika in Hunter X Hunter: G I Final, Neito Monoma in My Hero Academia, Kusuo Saiki in The Disastrous Life of Saiki K.: Reawakened, Kotetsu T. Kaburagi/Wild Tiger in Tiger & Bunny 2, Toru Oikawa in Haikyu!!, Hokuro in Ranking of Kings, Canute in the second season of Vinland Saga, and Rikiel in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean. He has also voiced characters in Kemono Jihen, Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?, Yasuke, The Way of the Househusband, Cagaster of an Insect Cage, Jewelpet, anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day, and Children Who Chase Lost Voices. In addition to his work on Japanese anime, Novara has voiced characters in numerous Western animated series, such as Spencer Shay in iCarly, multiple characters in the Turin-dubbed version of South Park, and Barbabravo in a redub of Barbapapa.

Beyond animation, Novara is a prominent voice in Italian-dubbed live-action series and films. He was the official Italian voice of Ted Mosby, played by Josh Radnor, in the series How I Met Your Mother from 2008 to 2014. He also dubs Jerry Trainor in iCarly and its revival, and has voiced characters in series such as Tempesta d'amore and Sentieri. In film, he has dubbed actors including Ben Schwartz as Sonic the Hedgehog in the live-action Sonic films, Ben Whishaw in The Return of Mary Poppins, and Dylan Minnette in the series Tredici.

Novara is equally celebrated for his prolific work in video game dubbing. He has been the Italian voice of Sonic the Hedgehog in the franchise since Sonic Generations in 2011. Other major video game roles include Ezio Auditore in Assassin's Creed II and Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, Ethan Winters in Resident Evil 7: Biohazard and Resident Evil Village, Garrus Vakarian in the Mass Effect trilogy, and Fox McCloud in multiple games from the Star Fox series.

Since 2012, he has been the off-screen announcer for the Italian children's television channel Super!. He has also pursued a musical career, forming the duo Dominio Libero in 2014 and releasing singles.
