Description
Odr, also written as Ozu in some variant spellings, is another name for the character more widely known as Oars, an ancient giant who appears in the anime One Piece. He is commonly referred to by the epithet Oars the Continent-Puller and was also known by the title the Devil.
In terms of background, Oars lived roughly five hundred years before the main events of the story. He belonged to the Ancient Giant race, and his physique was several times larger than that of an ordinary giant. He had two large horns and long yellow hair that flowed from his head down his back. According to the legends recounted in the series, he conquered countries and physically hauled entire islands across the sea, dragging the captured lands back to his own territory to build what was described as a nation of villains. He eventually died in a frozen region known as the Land of Ice at the age of 159, leaving behind a colossal corpse that became part of his fearsome legend.
During the Thriller Bark arc, the Warlord of the Sea Gecko Moria recovered the body of Oars and used the powers of his Shadow-Shadow Fruit to reanimate it as a special zombie, designated number 900 within his zombie army. Moria placed the stolen shadow of Monkey D. Luffy inside the giant's body, which shaped the revived creature's fighting style around Luffy's rubber-based techniques.
