Midori Norimaki, originally Midori Yamabuki, teaches at Penguin Village Junior High School. She is introduced as the teacher of Arale Norimaki, a robot built by Senbei Norimaki, and quickly becomes Senbei's main romantic interest. Her appearance features notably large, curly blonde hair, though her design shifts to brown, straight hair and a lighter complexion in the remake. A striking resemblance to Akane Kimidori enables them to pull collaborative pranks, like cheating during the Penguin Village Grand Prix. She demonstrates kindness and dedication to her students, though she also exhibits intense anger. After marrying Senbei, her characterization leans more heavily into ditziness and scatterbrained behavior. Her backstory, revealed in *Dr. Slump: Hoyoyo! Space Adventure*, explains she got lost as a child at an amusement park on Metropolis Island and accidentally boarded a spaceship from Planet Takeya-Saodake. With no heirs, the king and queen adopted her. Years later, after finding her biological parents, she returned to Earth but promised to assume the throne if the royal couple fell ill in old age. Her relationship with Senbei develops through comedic and dangerous situations. Early encounters involve Senbei's inventions, like See-Thru Glasses, failing to see her underwear or nude and causing accidents such as her scooter colliding with him. Their courtship includes a disastrous space-date where Senbei accidentally morphed her into an ant and crushed her, provoking her fury. She overhears Senbei mutter "will you marry me" near a bathroom she uses and immediately accepts. Their honeymoon involves multiple kidnappings by ape-like creatures and a caveboy who strip her naked and attempt to cook her, requiring rescues by Senbei, Arale, and Gatchan. Post-marriage, she gives birth to Turbo Norimaki, who gains psychic powers after an alien spacecraft collision. In the sequel *The Brief Return of Dr. Slump*, she bears a second child, Nitro Norimaki. As Senbei's wife, she becomes Arale's surrogate mother, managing household duties, often seen cooking or caring for the family. Outside *Dr. Slump*, she appears in the *Dragon Ball* series. When Goku visits Penguin Village to repair his Dragon Radar, she prepares cookies for him and witnesses Arale defeating General Blue. In *Dragon Ball Super*, she appears in a cameo during a shopping trip with Turbo where Arale greets her; despite decades passing, she shows no signs of aging.
