Description
Pagos is a police officer in Penguin Village, consistently partnered with Gala. Their patrol car suffers frequent accidental destruction caused by Arale Norimaki during her high-speed runs through town. This character first appeared in Akira Toriyama's earlier one-shot *Wonder Island 2*, featuring alongside prototype versions of Gala and Gyaosu as an officer in "Los Anguiris, Cauliflower," a parody of Los Angeles, California. In *Dr. Slump*, Pagos maintains his law enforcement role within the village's eccentric setting. Specific instances include Pagos and Gala replacing an unnamed citizen whose vehicle Arale smashes in the anime adaptation of *Arale-chan's Birth*, initiating the car destruction gag. During the episode *Here Comes Arale*, he assists Gala in detaining underage scooter riders, including Arale and her friends, resulting in injuries from Arale's antics. He appears in story arcs such as *Arale on the Loose*, *The Lovely Trio*, *Monsters' Night*, and *Penguin Village Dom-Dom-Dom!*, where the patrol car destruction recurs. Pagos crosses over into the *Dragon Ball* series during the General Blue Saga, joining efforts to arrest General Blue. Later, in *Dragon Ball Super* episode 69, he and Gala reappear, with their squad car again destroyed by Arale. His visual design remains largely unchanged in the 1997 *Dr. Slump* remake. His name, alongside Gala's, derives from the Galápagos Islands. Pagos also features as a minor character in the animated short *Dr. Slump: Dr. Mashirito and Abale-chan*, maintaining his established role.
