Description
Doramed III is a member of The Doraemons, a group of seven robotic cats who were classmates with the famous Doraemon at the Robot School. His design features pink synthetic skin, a distinct black mustache with upturned ends, and ox horns instead of the typical cat ears. He dresses in traditional Arabian clothing, including a green turban with a yellow feather and a green bisht decorated with red and yellow triangular patterns. Originally from Baghdad, he works and resides in a royal palace in Saudi Arabia, serving as a royal consultant and oracle to a prince named Arashin. He has a twin brother named Sindora-bad.
Doramed III possesses a calm and gentle demeanor on the surface, often appearing somewhat lazy, and is known for his kindness and willingness to help others. He has a natural talent for investigation and observation. However, this placid exterior belies a quick temper; when angered or annoyed, Doramed III undergoes a dramatic transformation, growing into a giant of immense size and power, capable of causing widespread destruction. This state subsides once he calms down or comes into contact with water. Despite his power, he has a well-defined set of personal quirks. His most notable weakness is a debilitating fear of water, known as aquaphobia, which is so severe that even being splashed can cause him to faint. This fear stands in stark contrast to his desert home and is a central element of his character. Consequently, his favorite way to eat dorayaki, the robotic cats' preferred treat, is freeze-dried. His economic situation is also a running characteristic; despite his royal position, he is consistently poor and diligently saves money.
His deepest motivation is to build a large water park called Water Land for the children living in the desert, a dream that is ironically challenged by his own fear of water. This aspiration represents his struggle against his own limitations and his desire to bring joy to others. In his personal history, he had a poignant romance with a girl named Xiao Mei, whom he met in a dream. He eventually learned she was trapped in a comatose state due to a car accident and chose to sacrifice their relationship to save her life by forcing her to wake up, knowing she would forget him.
In the story of The Mysterious Thief Dorapan The Mysterious Cartel, Doramed III plays a crucial role as one of the Doraemons called upon to investigate the thefts committed by the enigmatic thief Dorapan. He is one of the two members who, by chance, swapped their Friend Telecards with another teammate, causing them to be unaffected when Dorapan used a device to turn the others into statues. This allows Doramed III and his companion to pursue Dorapan and uncover the truth behind his actions: the thief was being blackmailed by an evil doctor who had kidnapped a girl and threatened to kill her with a tightening collar unless Dorapan obeyed his orders. This revelation shifts his perspective on Dorapan from that of a simple criminal to a more complex figure.
Doramed III's key relationships are primarily with his fellow Doraemons, with whom he shares a strong bond of friendship and teamwork forged during their school days. While he can have rivalries, such as with the Spanish bullfighter robot El Matadora, a deep, underlying friendship remains. His relationship with the thief Dorapan evolves significantly throughout the narrative; he initially distrusts him but comes to admire Dorapan's motives after learning he was protecting someone he loved, leading to a mutual trust.
His notable abilities are a blend of technology and magic. Instead of Doraemon's four-dimensional pocket, his gadgets are stored in a four-dimensional magic lamp, reflecting his genie-like persona. He commands a flying magic carpet and is a proficient magician, with a lightning-based attack called a thunderclap as his special move. He is also a highly skilled fortune-teller, using tarot cards to predict the future with great accuracy. His defining ability remains his transformation into a giant when enraged, a power that makes him a formidable force in any confrontation.
