Movie
Description
Lalabel hails from a magical world, arriving in the human realm while pursuing Biscus, a thief who stole magical artifacts, including two enchanted briefcases. During their confrontation, both were transported to Earth. Lalabel lost consciousness and was discovered and adopted by the elderly Tachibana couple. She resides with them, attending school alongside their granddaughter Teko and Toko, a friend often noted for an androgynous appearance.
Initially unfamiliar with human customs, Lalabel displays naivete about Earth's societal norms but exhibits growing curiosity and adaptability. Her daily life involves navigating ordinary experiences while secretly using magic to thwart Biscus's schemes, which often defraud humans. She wields a magic wand and a briefcase containing various enchanted items, activating her powers with the incantation "Belalula."
A key part of Lalabel's routine is maintaining a diary where she records reflections on human behavior and emotions, often guided by proverbs from Mr. Tachibana. These entries reflect her evolving comprehension of concepts like empathy, humor, and affection, indicating subtle emotional growth. Her actions extend beyond opposing Biscus; she frequently uses magic altruistically to help others, such as rescuing people from danger or mediating conflicts.
During a summer vacation depicted in a film special, Lalabel travels to a coastal guesthouse. When the adult proprietors are absent, she actively assists their son Ryota with managing the establishment, demonstrating her cooperative spirit. This occurs despite renewed magical interference from Biscus, who operates a rival establishment nearby.
Lalabel's core narrative concludes with a pivotal transformation: following a final confrontation, both magical briefcases lose their power and vanish. This event renders Lalabel fully human and simultaneously leads to Biscus's reformation. No longer possessing magical abilities, she continues her life integrated into human society, focusing on everyday activities and her relationships.
