Description
Ensign Nogami is a young Ohka pilot in the Imperial Japanese Army Air Service during World War II, dedicated to his military duty as a kamikaze pilot for the rocket-powered Yokosuka MXY-7 Ohka. On August 5, 1945, during a raid on an American carrier battle group, he demands launch from his Mitsubishi G4M "Betty" bomber. The crew refuses due to the distance, and the bomber is destroyed by American aircraft. Nogami parachutes to safety and survives. Returning to base, he meets the crew for his next mission the following day and two surviving A6M Zero pilots who pledge to ensure his success at any cost.

On August 6, Nogami participates in a second raid on the same fleet. His bomber is critically damaged by an American F6F Hellcat. One escorting Zero pilot sacrifices himself by crashing into the Hellcat, enabling the bomber to reach visual range of the carriers. Nogami is launched moments before the bomber disintegrates. He navigates intense anti-aircraft fire and crashes his Ohka into an Essex-class aircraft carrier. He survives the initial impact. The American carrier commander finds a photograph of Nogami's girlfriend in the wreckage and receives news of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima before the carrier explodes and sinks.

In a later storyline during the fictional USRAC War, Nogami reappears. He aligns with the New Central Powers after the Belkan Grey Men orchestrate the discrediting of Marcus Snow, which also tarnished Nogami's past military honors. Piloting a new fighter jet, he destroys 235 Grand Alliance aircraft in aerial combat, becoming a recognized flying ace for the New Central Powers.
