Description
Hikari Daitokuji, billionaire industrialist and CEO of the Daitokuji Financial Group, commands a vast empire in heavy machinery and military hardware. His relentless pursuit of advanced technology drives him to exploit the crashed Alpha Cygnan alien ship, framing its occupants as invaders to manipulate the Japanese military into attacking with experimental mecha. Among these is the Queen Margarita, a confiscated design originally crafted by his daughter, B-ko. During a clash over the alien technology, Hikari dons a revealing battle suit mirroring B-ko’s Akagiyama prototype, sustaining near-fatal injuries like a shattered spine before eventually recovering.
Hikari’s relationship with B-ko oscillates between familial tension and intellectual kinship. Their confrontations escalate into physical battles, forcing Hikari to deploy drastic countermeasures against her aggression. Yet both share a nuanced appreciation for classical Japanese poetry, exchanging verses from the Manyoshu mid-conflict. His eccentricity surfaces in unexpected ways, such as sporting a flamboyant Elvis Presley-inspired Las Vegas jumpsuit during combat.
Later narratives depict a shift in his ambitions, abandoning global domination for ventures like orchestrating Miss Ayumi’s marriage proposal to Kei. This transition contrasts his earlier persona, drawing parallels to figures like Tony Stark and Ted Turner due to his tech-driven industrialist flair and power-suit innovations. Despite setbacks like the Queen Margarita debacle, he persists in collaborating with the Earth Defense Force, supplying mecha to assault the Alpha Cygnan vessel. His actions consistently intertwine corporate agendas with personal vendettas, leveraging alien tech and familial rivalries to fuel his ever-evolving schemes.
