Description
Barbas began as a neutral deity presiding over rule, power, and vengeance. Fleeing the War of the Gods without aligning with light or dark, he reached Crystania. There, he shed his divine form, sealing his soul within a tiger's body to become the animal god king ruling Berudia.

Centuries later, seeking greater power beyond his animal vessel, Barbas encountered Ashram, leader of the Marmo people seeking entry to Crystania. Barbas offered access in exchange for Ashram's body. Upon possession, Barbas commanded Ashram's followers and surpassed other animal gods, declaring himself the "Gods' King" and initiating plans to conquer Crystania, disrupting the divine cycle.

Ashram's soul resisted Barbas's control, creating an internal struggle that weakened Barbas's hold. Targeting Prince Redon of Da'nan, Barbas manipulated the prince's anger to lure him to Crystania. To demonstrate power, Barbas annihilated an entire village—including his own soldiers—as Redon watched. Later, at Dayton Castle, he incapacitated Redon's allies and demanded Redon kill the dark elf Sheru (formerly Pirotess) for power. Redon's refusal allowed Sheru to use the Chaos Ring. Barbas halted the ring's physical impact, but its magic disrupted his control over Ashram's body, contributing to his defeat.

Barbas's spirit endured in the chaos realm, tormenting Ashram's trapped soul by impersonating their former king Beld to intensify suffering. His followers, led by Garudi, pursued his resurrection by attempting to sound the Bell of Wakening, requiring outsiders due to protective spells. Garudi simultaneously hunted users of the Chaos Rings to eliminate threats. Upon resurrection, Barbas declared himself the only true god and unleashed indiscriminate destruction across Crystania, killing other gods and their followers to assert absolute dominance.

Sheru and Redon's efforts, aided by the Chaos Ring, culminated in Barbas's permanent defeat. His spirit dissipated during the final confrontation, freeing Ashram and ending his reign.
