Description
Nao Inabe is a first-year university student in the literature department who works part-time at a family restaurant, where she is a senior to Akina Myoudou. She owns a rare card known as the Peerless Destiny Card, which later manifests as the Fated One of Unparalleled, Varga Dragres. Nao dreams of becoming a professional Vanguard fighter and attends a special training facility to pursue that goal. She is characterized by a caring and straightforward nature, which makes her well-liked by those around her. In the story, she initially serves as a mentor figure to Akina, teaching him how to play Vanguard during their shifts. Her motivation is rooted in her ambition to turn professional, but after a pivotal fight with Akina, she remembers her past self who genuinely enjoyed the game and realizes that she does not have to give up Vanguard even if she cannot achieve professional status. This realization leads her to encourage Akina and to continue pursuing both her dream and her love for the game. Nao participates in the Rising Dragon Cup, where she defeats professional fighters and grows closer to her goal. She also becomes involved in the conflict against the phantom world, fighting alongside Akina as a Genma Beast Fighter. During a confrontation, the entity Sybilt takes over her body, blaming her for a past incident, but Nao eventually overcomes this possession. Her fighting style relies on a Dragon Empire deck, with Varga Dragres enabling multiple consecutive attacks and a Divine Skill that can deliver a decisive third strike when the opponent has four or more damage. Throughout the series, Nao balances her academic life, her part-time job, and her progression as a fighter, demonstrating resilience and a supportive role within the main group.
