Kazuhito Narita attended Karasuno High School as a second-year student in class 2-4, competing as a middle blocker on the boys' volleyball team. He, along with Chikara Ennoshita and Hisashi Kinoshita, temporarily quit during their first year due to difficulties adapting to coach Ikkei Ukai's demanding training regimen. The trio later regretted this decision and rejoined, coining the self-deprecating nicknames "Ungrateful Second Years" or "Disgraceful Second Years" to acknowledge their perceived lapse in commitment.
Physically, Narita stood 180.2 cm tall with a lean build, dark shaved hair, wide brown eyes, and narrow eyebrows. After high school, he grew his hair slightly and started wearing glasses. His athletic capabilities included a maximum jump reach of 322 cm for spiking and 305 cm for blocking. Official statistics rated his abilities on a 5-point scale: power (2), jumping (2), stamina (2), game sense (4), technique (3), and speed (3). His playing style emphasized stability and adaptability, particularly in adjusting to imperfect sets, though he found it challenging to synchronize with new setters like Tobio Kageyama. He performed reliably with longtime setter Kōshi Sugawara due to their shared experience.
Narita displayed a calm and steady personality, maintaining composure under pressure and contributing consistently during practices and official matches. He occasionally teased teammates like Ryūnosuke Tanaka but generally avoided the spotlight, often blending into the background—a trait noted by peers. His closest relationships were with Ennoshita and Kinoshita, forged through their shared experience of leaving and rejoining the team. He also supported Tanaka and Yū Nishinoya during their exam studies and interacted with Tanaka's sister, Saeko.
During competitions, Narita primarily served as a backup middle blocker. Key appearances included being substituted for Shoyo Hinata against Johzenji High, where his compatibility with Sugawara led to effective plays. In the Spring High Preliminary finals against Shiratorizawa Academy, he replaced an injured Kei Tsukishima during the crucial fifth set. Despite visible nerves and initial coordination issues with Kageyama, he provided stable defense, earning praise from coach Keishin Ukai for maintaining his typical performance level against a top-tier opponent. Later, at the Spring National Tournament, he entered the match against Kamomedai High when Hinata fell ill. Though his spike was blocked, he noted feeling less anxious than during the Shiratorizawa match.
After graduating, Narita began working for a real estate firm. He attended a professional volleyball match between the Schweiden Adlers and MSBY Black Jackals alongside Kinoshita, indicating his continued connection to the sport.
