Description
Ibushi Arima is a third-year student at Binan High School and vice-president of the student council, which also operates as the Conquest Club. He possesses dark green hair, crimson eyes, and a height of 184 cm. His birthday falls on November 10, making his zodiac sign Scorpio, and his blood type is AB. Ibushi enjoys playing backgammon and gardening, specifically cultivating herbs for tea. His preferred snack is carbonated rice crackers, but he harbors a strong aversion to snails, stemming from a childhood incident where he accidentally stepped on one, leaving him permanently unnerved. He also dislikes salty licorice, known as salmiakki.

Typically presenting a calm, polite, and laid-back demeanor, Ibushi often appears uninterested or clueless in daily life. However, he occasionally surprises others with unexpectedly sharp or harsh remarks. He frequently acts as a peacemaker, especially during tensions between fellow student council members Kinshiro Kusatsu and Akoya Gero. His defining trait is unwavering loyalty to Kinshiro, whom he serves with butler-like devotion—preparing tea, offering advice, and remaining steadfastly loyal even when treated coldly. This profound loyalty may stem from deeper feelings, as it is suggested he harbors a crush on Kinshiro.

Raised in an upper-class family environment emphasizing social appearances, Ibushi experienced feelings of emotional detachment. His childhood shifted when he met Kinshiro Kusatsu and Atsushi Kinugawa. Kinshiro's genuine kindness and cheerful smile during their early friendship profoundly impacted Ibushi, helping him open up emotionally and forge a lasting bond. This history underpins his present-day dedication to Kinshiro, though Kinshiro initially forgot their childhood connection upon entering high school.

Beyond his relationship with Kinshiro, Ibushi interacts variably with others. He maintains good terms with Akoya Gero, addressing him by his first name and occasionally teasing him in the manga, contrary to Akoya's wishes. In the otome game, Ibushi perceives Akoya as attempting to "steal" the protagonist during a date. His interactions with Atsushi Kinugawa are limited in the anime, but the manga depicts him reacting strongly—spitting out his drink—when Atsushi uses the nickname "Ibu-chan." He is generally friendly with Yumoto Hakone, with occasional interactions across manga and otome media.

As a Conquest Club member, Ibushi transforms into Chevalier Argent, the Silver Chevalier, by invoking "Conquest!" and activating a rhombus-shaped ring. His attribute is "rustling wind," and his color motif is silver. In battle, he wields a rapier and can create chain-like barriers to block attacks. His signature combined attack with the other Chevaliers is "Ultima Adamas," where each fires a beam from their rapier—Ibushi's being silver. While often an observer in conflicts, he actively joins battles when necessary, such as confronting Cerulean in Episode 11 of the anime.

His development shows progression from a passive supporter to a more engaged participant in both student council duties and battles. The manga highlights his aversion to snails more intensely, emphasizing the lasting impact of his childhood trauma. The otome game reveals his occasional misinterpretations of social situations, such as viewing Akoya's actions as antagonistic during a date scenario. His character songs, like "Butler's Philosophy" and "I miss you no 3 meters," reflect his devoted and contemplative nature.

Across all media, including the OVA "Love! Love! Love!," Ibushi's role remains consistent as Kinshiro's loyal aide, with his backstory and relationships providing depth to his calm yet complex personality.
