TV-Series
Description
Muco is a Shiba Inu belonging to Komatsu-san, a glassblower whose workshop lies deep within Akita Prefecture's mountains. She acts as mascot for Komatsu-san's workplace, GLASS STUDIO amato, also known as VETRO. Her life centers entirely on this glass studio and her owner.

She experiences Akita's distinct seasons: shoveling snow from heavy falls, enduring sweltering summers, viewing cherry blossoms, celebrating Christmas, and marking Valentine's Day. Muco confronts daily challenges and routines, including dreaded trips to the veterinarian, learning new tricks under Komatsu-san's tutelage, and facing perceived humiliations or existential puzzles, such as nose squeezes and torturous encounters with fruit.

Her personality is marked by unwavering loyalty and devotion to Komatsu-san. This devotion remains steadfast despite potential rivals for his affection, like his love interest Shinohara-san or the arrival of a dubious new character unsettling regular visitor Ushiko. Muco consistently protects her bond with her owner.

Muco draws inspiration from a real Shiba Inu of the same name, who served as mascot for the actual VETRO glass studio in Akita. This real dog gained significant popularity in Japan, maintaining an active Twitter account with a large following. Her real-life activities formed the basis for manga and adaptations, leading to a dedicated photo book release.

Her interactions extend beyond Komatsu-san to other recurring figures: Ushikou-san, a friend of Komatsu-san and patron of a local bar; Bōda-san, the proprietor of that bar; Rena-chan, Bōda-san's daughter; Dr. Mutō, the local veterinarian; and Tamaki-kun, another character entering her world. Muco navigates these relationships within the context of her daily life at the studio and the surrounding mountain community.
