Description
Sora Takanashi, born March 27, is the eldest of three half-sisters. She became step-sisters with Miu and Hina Takanashi after her father, Shingo Takanashi, married Yuri Segawa. Following the presumed deaths of Shingo and Yuri in a plane crash, Sora and her sisters faced potential separation by relatives. To prevent this, they moved into the small apartment of Yuuta Segawa, Yuri's younger brother, who became their guardian. Though not biologically related, Sora is Yuuta's step-niece.

She possesses brown eyes and shoulder-length brown hair, typically styled with bangs covering her forehead. A distinctive blue ribbon always adorns her hair, which also features a single ahoge (a stray lock resembling a crescent shape). Her school uniform includes a pink blazer, red skirt, necktie, and blouse. Outside school, she favors feminine, stylish clothing. By the time of the second OVA, her hair grows slightly past her shoulders.

Initially shy and academically focused, Sora struggles with cooking and chores. She exhibits a tsundere personality, prone to jealousy and short temper, especially when Yuuta interacts with other women like Raika Oda, a university student he admires. Sora harbors a long-standing romantic crush on Yuuta, sparked five years earlier when he tended to her injury during her father's wedding to Yuri. This crush intensifies during cohabitation, leading to clinginess, possessiveness, and denials about her feelings. She initially addresses Yuuta formally as "oji-san" (uncle) before affectionately switching to "onii-chan" (big brother).

Her talents include singing and sewing. She joins her middle school choir club but battles severe stage fright and insecurity, partly from comparing herself to Raika. Encouraged by Yuuta and club president Kiyomi Okae, she gradually overcomes her shyness, eventually becoming choir leader in high school. She also develops an interest in cosplay, influenced by a classmate and Yuri's costume collection.

Sora assumes a co-parental role with Yuuta, helping manage the household and care for her sisters, especially soothing Hina by singing. Her relationship with Miu involves light teasing about her crush on Yuuta, while she resents Shuntarou Sako for derogatorily calling her "obasan" (old lady). Her jealousy toward Raika lessens as she unconsciously begins to view her as a maternal figure.

Across the series, Sora matures significantly. She improves her cooking skills, becomes more assertive, and pursues her passion for music. By the light novel's conclusion and the second OVA, an 18-year-old Sora marries Yuuta. She later becomes pregnant with their child.
