Description
Hagakure Shidō hails from Kolga village, practicing the Yamabiko ninja arts. His appearance features dark brown hair, dark eyes, a green ninja outfit, red armbands, a red-and-gold forehead protector, and a signature green scarf. Personality-wise, he favors sneaky and underhanded tactics for personal advantage but fiercely protects forests and trusted individuals. His core motivation is collecting Sword Braves to obtain the Sword of Judgment, seeking to become a higher-class ninja without conventional training. His closest bond is with Hayatemaru, a giant bird he considers closer than a brother.

In the anime, Shidō first battles Rirove to save Hayatemaru from becoming an alchemy ingredient, suffering defeat. He later escapes capture alongside Suou. Learning of the Atlantia Army's attack on Kolga village via messenger bird Komachimaru, he travels there with Kizakura and Suou. Entering the Green Deity Sacred Tree with Rirove and Suou, he acquires his Sword Brave. He then challenges Rirove for Suou's freedom and wins. At Kolga village, he becomes Sora's 100th challenger and secures victory. During the ritual to summon the Sword of Judgment, he battles Gordy. In the final conflict against Garudos, he lends cards to Tsurugi while diverting Stingers from evacuation arks. The epilogue shows him training with fellow ninjas.

The manga narrative diverges: his initial battle against Rirove also ends in loss, followed by witnessing Bringer's capture. Reluctant to return home without his Sword Brave, he journeys to the Green Deity Sacred Tree upon hearing it might reside there. There, he encounters Suou and intercepts an attack from Rirove aimed at her; his Sword Eye repels the assault, manifesting his Sword Brave. He then defeats Rirove in a rematch, emphasizing his growth. The manga epilogue depicts him embarking on another journey with the Sword Eyes of Light.

His abilities center on Battle Spirits, utilizing a green charge deck focused on winged beast spirits. Key cards include The LightFangPhoenix Rekkuumaru and The HurricaneTwinBlade Kamui-Hayate, each summoned with signature catchphrases. His deck also contains spirits like Byakko-Hayato, Kengokiji, and Shinobi-Chuuhi, alongside magic cards such as Shining Shadow and Wind Pressure, and the nexus card The Hidden Village of Light Fang. The manga deck features a smaller subset. Battle statistics include anime losses to Tsurugi and Rirove (Episode 15), an undecided match against Haqua (Episode 34), and victories over Rirove (Episode 35), Sora (Episode 36), and Kizakura (Episode 46). Manga battles show a loss and later victory against Rirove.

His name translates to "hiding in the leaves," reflecting his ninja background. He habitually ends phrases with "de gozaru" and occasionally serves as comic relief due to naive perspectives, though he exhibits strategic ingenuity during critical missions.
