Description
Grenada, Empress Dowager of Atlantia and widow of Emperor Atlaios, became a maternal figure for its people amidst the chaos following her husband's death. Mother to sons Tsurugi Tatewaki and Yaiba, she faced imprisonment under suspicion of rebellion when Yaiba ascended the throne, though later exonerated and released. Her appearance featured long brown hair beneath a headdress, grey eyes, and a distinctive white dress adorned with blue and gold ornamental details, a red gem at the neckline, and gold cuffs on the sleeves.

Publicly, Grenada aligned herself with Yaiba's policies during his rule, including deploying Stinger armies in Megallanion. This alignment prompted her to banish the Sword Eyes of Light from Megallanion for public safety, an act she later expressed regret over. Secretly, however, she belonged to the Red Army, a faction opposing the government to establish a more equitable system. Her loyalty to Yaiba served as a protective measure against a shadow figure manipulating events to dominate the world.

Grenada's primary motivation was safeguarding her children. She covertly stored Tsurugi's Sword Eyes of Light power within the droid Bringer via a kiss, transferring and concealing it. Later, she empowered Red Army loyalist Amarello, enabling Haqua's rescue from brainwashing. Her abilities stemmed from a jewel staff received in childhood from Justice Tachibana, who prophesied she would become a mother to both light and dark.

After Yaiba discovered her deception, Grenada was captured and imprisoned in an isolated tower. Freed by Amarello, she retreated to a royal grave. Reuniting with Red Army members, they faced temporary brainwashing by Garudos before Bringer saved them. During Atlantia's volcanic eruption, Grenada aided in calming panicked citizens and joined the Sword Eyes in Kamata. She accompanied Tsurugi, Yaiba, and Bringer to confront Garudos, witnessing Yaiba's defeat and Bringer's severe damage. She remained with Yaiba during his recovery, expressing pride in his efforts as king.

In the final battle against Garudos, Grenada gave Tsurugi the card "Sword Destiny," symbolizing the bond between her sons and enabling Tsurugi's triple brave maneuver. In the epilogue, she observed Tsurugi and Yaiba in the renewed world while reminiscing about Atlaios. Within the manga adaptation, her role was minimal, appearing briefly in holographic form and physically only in the concluding chapters where she expressed concern for both sons.
