TV-Series
Description
Nana Nishigaki teaches science at Nanamori Middle School, characterized by her carefree and eccentric personality. She typically appears unfazed by accidents or consequences stemming from her experiments. Her light gray hair covers her right eye, her eyes are red, and she consistently wears a white lab coat. She stands 168 cm tall, has blood type AB, and her birthday is June 21.

A childhood incident involving plugging a miniature light bulb into a wall socket caused an explosion; this event ignited her lifelong passion for experimental science and cemented her personal motto: "Explosion is the key to success," shaping her teaching and experimental approach. The spin-off *Touzainanboku!* explores her high school years alongside Tsubasa Minamino, Hatsumi Kitamiya, and Shihoko Azuma, further detailing her early scientific interests and explosive experiments.

Professionally, Nana frequently conducts dangerous experiments leading to explosions, which often result in temporary bans from the science room. During these bans, she relocates her activities to the student council room. Despite the disruptions, students trust her, and she participates in their activities, demonstrating a youthful spirit. Her ambitious experiments include attempts like human flight using a cannon, which blew the roof off her home. She commutes to school by bicycle while wearing a full-face helmet.

Relationships are significant: she shares a close, unconventional bond with student council president Rise Matsumoto, describing it as "improper." Rise frequently acts as her test subject for experimental drugs and inventions, and Nana is one of the few who understands Rise's quiet voice. Nana also cuts Rise's hair. Interactions with fellow teacher Shihoko Azuma occasionally evoke uncharacteristic frustration or embarrassment from Nana, contrasting her usual calm demeanor. She actively seeks "explosion buddies" for her experiments.

Nana appears across multiple episodes and spin-offs. In Season 1, Episode 9, she moves her experiments to the student council room during summer. In Season 2, Episode 11, she repairs a malfunctioning time machine that sent Akari Akaza back in time. She also features in the *MiniYuri* web series and the parody spin-off *That Time Only Akari Got Reincarnated as a Slime*. Her role in *Touzainanboku!* provides additional backstory on her high school relationships and scientific pursuits.
