Description
Ryuhou originated in Osaka, Japan's Lost Ground. As the heir to wealth, his privileged childhood turned isolated upon manifesting Alter abilities during an encounter with Mimori Kiryu, where he accidentally created a stone fragment, making him withdraw socially.

Six years before the main events, an unknown Alter with mismatched arms murdered his mother and Doberman, Zetsuei. This trauma awakened his full Alter power, which he named Zetsuei after his dog, cementing his commitment to order and justice alongside a cold, solitary nature.

He initially joined HOLY, HOLD's specialized unit policing Alters, becoming a ruthless enforcer against "Native Alters." His rivalry with Kazuma ignited during an early capture mission, escalating into obsessive conflict where Ryuhou's near-homicidal rage triggered a second geological uprising in the Lost Ground, causing his temporary amnesia.

Amnesiac, he protected a village of Inners from a corrupt Alter user, rejecting former HOLY allies Scheris Adjani and Urizane when they tried to retrieve him. HOLY operatives Unkei and Kigetsuki forcibly restored his memories by kidnapping his new friend Kanami Yuta. This betrayal drove him to permanently sever ties with HOLY, disillusioned by their methods.

His stance evolved toward principled justice over institutional loyalty. He allied with Kazuma to confront HOLY leader Kyoji Mujo, who revealed the death of Ryuhou's father, Tairen Ryu. Ryuhou then faced four pivotal battles: a revelatory fight against former commander Martin Zigmarl unlocked Zetsuei's armor form; a near-fatal clash with the Crystal entity; its defeat using Zetsuei's third form; and a final joint effort with Kazuma to overthrow Mujo.

After Mujo's defeat, Ryuhou and Kazuma cooperated for months repelling a Mainland military invasion. Mutual respect persisted, but their rivalry culminated in an ambiguous one-on-one battle to determine supremacy, with visual cues suggesting Kazuma's victory. Ryuhou later continued defending the Lost Ground alongside Kazuma against Mainland threats.

His Alter, Zetsuei, progressed through distinct stages: Stage 1 manifested as a humanoid figure with bound arms and bladed ribbons. Stage 2 became a serpentine form with rocket limbs and combat techniques like "Fukuryu" and "Garyu." The Armor Form, achieved against Zigmarl, enhanced defense. Manga-exclusive abilities included accelerated healing via matter deconstruction.
