Reika Aoki attends Nanairogaoka Middle School as a second-year student. She initially holds the position of student council vice-president before advancing to president. Actively involved in the archery club, she possesses a deep appreciation for traditional Japanese poetry and culture. Her personality radiates elegance, quiet composure, and thoughtfulness. A strong sense of modesty defines her, leading her to initially refuse help or collaboration to avoid inconveniencing others. Despite this reserved nature, she exhibits profound understanding and patience, maintaining remarkable calm even when confronted with unexpected revelations like the existence of Pretty Cure. She effectively controls her fear during crises, reacting with focus instead of panic. Among her teammates, she stands out as the most immediately accepting of her role as a Pretty Cure, displaying no surprise upon her transformation. She occasionally reveals a determined obsession with finding her correct "path" in life and takes her Pretty Cure responsibilities seriously, approaching challenges with a problem-solving mindset. Reika shares a longstanding childhood friendship with Nao Midorikawa, dating back to when Nao first became an older sister. This closeness is reflected in Reika being the only team member who does not use the formal honorific "-san" when addressing Nao; Nao often seeks physical comfort from Reika when frightened. Her relationship with Miyuki Hoshizora began with surprise at Miyuki's easygoing and sometimes airheaded behavior, but she values Miyuki's helpfulness and they share a solid friendship. Akane Hino respects Reika deeply, acknowledging her positions on the class committee and school council, praising her academic excellence, and referring to her as "Miss Popular." Reika maintains a professional friendship with the student council president, appreciating his positive actions. Within her family, her wise grandfather, Soutarou Aoki, plays a significant role; he specifically chose the kanji 麗華 (meaning "beautiful and elegant") for her name, hoping she would embody those traits. She frequently turns to him for guidance when uncertain. Reika first encountered her future teammates during Miyuki's class presentation. Days later, Miyuki observed Reika watering flowers, admiring her kindness and selflessness and describing her as a "water fairy." Alongside Akane, Yayoi, and Nao, Miyuki asked Reika to become a Pretty Cure, but Reika politely declined. Later, Miyuki discovered Reika preparing a read-aloud for primary school children and offered help alongside the others. During this event, the villain Majorina attacked, creating a "Bad End" scenario and transforming a crafted mirror into an Akanbe monster that cloned itself. After the existing Cures exhausted themselves trying to defeat the clones, Reika stepped forward to defend them, triggering her spontaneous transformation into Cure Beauty. Using her sharp intellect, she identified the real Akanbe and destroyed it, subsequently accepting her role as a Pretty Cure. As Cure Beauty, Reika commands the power of ice, enabling abilities like freezing wind and creating ice swords. Her transformation phrase is "The snow that falls and gathers! A noble heart! Cure Beauty!" ("Shinshin to furitsumoru kiyoki kokoro! Kyua Byūti!"). Her appearance transforms significantly: her hair turns vibrant blue and lengthens dramatically, styled in a distinctive hime cut with gold ornaments on slightly curled forelocks. She wears a tiara featuring a blue gem and angel wings, a light blue dress with feathered wing designs, blue and white detailing, dark blue shorts, and matching boots adorned with ribbons. Her primary combat technique is the "Beauty Blizzard" attack. She gains enhanced forms throughout her journey. Using the Miracle Jewel Decors unlocks Tiara Mode (Episode 12), replacing her tiara with a golden crown and wing accessories, enabling her to combine powers with teammates for the "Rainbow Healing" group attack. Obtaining the Blue Snow Crystal Princess Decor and Princess Candle unlocks Princess Mode (Episode 23), characterized by longer, more voluminous hair, a golden halo, a ruffled pearl blue dress, and the ability to perform the "Rainbow Burst" group attack. Further development leads to Ultra Cure Beauty, featuring a lighter dress, a feathered cape-like piece, and functional white wings. In the film "Precure All Stars New Stage: Mirai no Tomodachi," Cure Beauty combines powers with the other Smile Cures to summon a massive rainbow shield or barrier, significantly enhanced by Fu-chan's energy. Later (Episode 32), she joins other Princess Cures to execute the "Royal Rainbow Burst" attack, utilizing Princess Candles and the Royal Clock. Her civilian name carries layered meanings. "Aoki" combines 青 (blue) and 木 (wood/tree), referencing her color motif as a Pretty Cure. "Reika" can mean "sub-zero," aligning with her ice powers, but her grandfather specifically intended the kanji 麗華 ("beautiful and elegant") for her name, reflecting her realized personality. Her alter ego's name, "Cure Beauty," alludes to fairy-tale princesses' beauty, reinforced by her occasional mirror motif and initial popularity designation. In international adaptations, she is known as "Glitter Breeze" (English) or "Glitter Azul" (Portuguese), emphasizing the wind accompanying her snow powers.
