Description
Bujū, a Makemono of the post-apocalyptic hybrid race blending beast and demon, emerges as a violent, rampaging force bearing the moniker “Chōjin of the East.” His notoriety leads to capture by the tyrannical ruler Caesar, who enslaves Makemono. During imprisonment, Bujū flees with Caesar’s daughter Alector—a humanoid android programmed to obey her creator-father. Their early dynamic hinges on manipulation, with Bujū demanding sexual acts in exchange for granting her glimpses of the outside world.
A transformative shift unfolds when Bujū encounters the Kyo-O, an infant prophesied to annihilate the Chōjin. This discovery ignites his evolution from selfish brutality to reluctant guardianship. His bond with Alector deepens into a fraught interdependence, fostering empathy through his role as the Kyo-O’s protector. Though nuances of his redemption remain underexplored, this moral pivot starkly contrasts his earlier ruthlessness.
Bujū’s path intertwines with wider power struggles: Caesar’s machinations to control the Chōjin and scientist Münchhausen II’s efforts to harness the Kyo-O’s destructive potential. Allying with Amano Jaku, a steadfast protagonist, Bujū is cast as an unwilling hero opposing these threats. His arc concludes alongside survivors—the Kyo-O, Alector, and others—journeying to forge purpose in their shattered world, embodying fragile hope within enduring turmoil.
Bujū’s origins as a Makemono stay obscured beyond his role in the fractured hierarchy, with no elaboration on his past or existence preceding the narrative’s events. His development remains anchored to immediate actions and relationships, unexpanded into external lore or adaptations.
