Description
Doquín is the central guest character in the film Soreike! Anpanman: Inochi no Hoshi no Dolly. Her story begins when she is found as a broken, lifeless doll floating in the sea by Anpanman, who brings her to Jam Ojisan's bakery. One night, a Star of Life falls from the sky and enters her body, granting her the ability to move, speak, and experience the world like a living being.

Initially, Doquín is overjoyed by her newfound existence and her freedom to do whatever she pleases. This joy, however, quickly manifests as selfish and willful behavior. Unfamiliar with the responsibilities and courtesies of living in a community, she acts only on her desires, causing trouble for the residents of the town. Her perspective on life is purely hedonistic, leading her to reject Anpanman's core philosophy of living to help others in need. At this stage, she views life as a means for personal enjoyment rather than a gift that connects one to others.

The central motivation for Doquín shifts dramatically when she realizes the Star of Life that animates her is not fully merged with her body and is slowly shrinking. This discovery fills her with a profound fear of reverting to an inanimate doll, making the preservation of her own existence her primary concern. This fear compels her actions in the film's latter half and forces her to confront the true nature of her temporary life and what it is worth.

Her relationships with the other characters are key to her development. She is initially a foil to Anpanman, whose selfless heroism highlights her own selfishness. Her pivotal and most profound relationship forms with Anpanman when he sacrifices himself to protect her from the supervillain Super Kabi Dandan. In this act, Anpanman loses his own Star of Life, effectively dying. Witnessing this ultimate act of self-sacrifice from someone she had earlier dismissed profoundly changes Doquín. In a defining moment of growth, she willingly gives her own fading Star of Life to Anpanman, allowing him to revive and defeat the villain. This act of sacrifice is her character's climax, demonstrating she has learned that the significance of life is not defined by its length or personal pleasure, but by the ability to give it for others.

By the end of her journey, Doquín understands the importance of living and the value of sacrificing for others. While she originally had no special abilities as a simple doll, her primary notable attribute is the Star of Life itself, which grants her animation and mobility. Her most significant power, however, is the autonomy to choose to give that life away, an ability that stems from her developed character rather than any innate skill. Through this journey, she transitions from a symbol of selfish existence to one of selfless meaning.
