Description
Nanami Hiromachi is a second-year student at Tsukinomori Girls’ Academy and the bassist for the band Morfonica, where she also takes responsibility for designing the band’s posters. She comes from a family with notable artistic talents; however, her parents are known for being quirky and odd, and Nanami is reluctant to let others interact with them. She is a young woman who longs to be normal, acutely aware that she is different from her peers. This self‑consciousness leads her to hide her true self in an effort to blend in with those around her. She joined Morfonica because the girls‑band trend was popular at the time, and she hoped that band life would let her experience the fun, normal high‑school life she dreamed of. Although she keeps her abilities concealed, Nanami is an extremely gifted individual. She earns excellent grades, possesses remarkable artistic skill, and shows a talent for many crafts, especially making accessories that can be mistaken for real sweets. She tends to downplay her achievements with phrases such as "it was just a coincidence" or "this is nothing special." Her natural aptitude extends to learning new tasks quickly; she can arrange songs or create stage accessories simply by researching online. In the story of Morfonication, Nanami finds herself gradually opening up through her involvement with the band, becoming more willing to let her true abilities and personality be seen. She is classmates with drummer Tsukushi Futaba and forms close bonds with her other bandmates – vocalist Mashiro Kurata, guitarist Touko Kirigaya, and violinist Rui Yashio – who support her journey toward self‑acceptance. Her catchphrase, "From Hiromachi’s perspective…," often precedes her thoughtful observations. Nanami also takes on a part‑time job at a family restaurant. Her development centers on overcoming the fear of standing out and learning to embrace her extraordinary talents, ultimately allowing her to enjoy the genuine, vibrant school life she had always wanted.
