Tomomi Satō, a teenage cousin of Ryusuke Tagawa, resides in Tokushima. During Ryusuke's summer visit, they venture to the Anabuki River, where a powerful current sweeps them away, resulting in their drowning. At the brink of death, a dragon intervenes, rescuing them and delivering them to an enigmatic old man in the spirit realm. This figure confirms their deaths but offers a chance for revival: they must traverse the spirit world to uncover their life's mission. Accepting, Tomomi and Ryusuke begin their odyssey. Their first stop is a desolate town echoing the 1960s, where they encounter harrowing visions—violent clashes among terrified crowds and gruesome medical mutilations. Witnessing relentless cycles of death and rebirth, they recognize a hellish dimension. This perilous journey through such realms constitutes their quest to grasp their purpose and reclaim their lives.
