She attended Challenge Kindergarten on Challenge Island alongside Shimajiro, Mimirin, and others. Her design features droopy dark pink ears, a pink nose, and a forehead tuft of hair. Her appearance evolved: early episodes showed her in a white polo shirt under a magenta jumpsuit with a gold zipper, red shoes, and a large red head bow. Later, she wore a white t-shirt under a magenta sleeveless hoodie with a yellow hood, denim-blue shorts, and red shoes with white and yellow details, swapping the bow for a pink bandana. In *Shimajiro Hesoka*, she sported an orange long-sleeved top under a yellow short-sleeved shirt marked with a magenta "R," a navy skirt with lighter shorts, plus her red shoes and pink bandana.

Her personality emphasizes reliability, sharp observation, and a tomboyish nature. She frequently uses the catchphrase "Ayashi" ("Suspicious..." or "How fishy...") when spotting dubious behavior, characterized as steady and rarely making mistakes. She shared a notably close friendship with Mimirin Midorihara, demonstrated by gifting her favorite ribbon to Mimirin before leaving Challenge Island. Ramurin is one of only two main characters without siblings, alongside Mimirin.

Her background includes family ownership of a ranch, reflected in her surname "Makiba." She enjoys drawing, painting, sumo, and judo, with pudding as her favorite food. She fears ghosts and is not a fast runner. Her birthday is March 3, coinciding with the Japanese holiday "Ohinamatsuri" (Girls' Day).

Ramurin's journey concluded in the *Shimajiro Hesoka* finale (episode 99, "Goodbye, Ramurin").
