Description
Mikoto Saito is a high school student attending the same school as Akina Myodo. She is also a talented singer and idol in the entertainment industry (her surname uses the kanji for "west" (西) and "tower" (塔)). Mikoto possesses waist-length black hair and green eyes, typically wearing glasses. Her standard attire includes a long-sleeved white shirt with a folded collar over a black tank top, a pink pleated skirt with a brown belt, white leggings, and thigh-high boots; she has also been depicted in an animal-themed hoodie casually.

Public attention as an idol comes with negative comments accusing her of inauthenticity, contributing to her sudden decision to declare a hiatus. Mikoto enjoys playing Cardfight!! Vanguard Dear Days online but lacked experience with the physical card game until being chosen as one of the Fated Ones. Her participation in the Fated Clash originates from her bond with the Fated One of Ever-changing, Krysrain; this resonance designated her as Lyrical Monasterio's representative on Cray.

Mikoto's connection to Akina Myodo deepens upon discovering his younger sister, Hikari, is one of her fans. After witnessing Akina's victory against Nao Inabe, she learns Hikari facilitated their meeting. Akina introduces Mikoto to Megumi Okura, who helps her build her physical deck. Mikoto wins her first physical cardfight against Megumi, marking her transition to real-world gameplay. During her Fated Clash journey, she visits Hikari in the hospital and faces Taizo Kiyokura, who defeats her using his Product-based deck.

A significant part of her background involves a Kiyokura Group summer camp a decade prior. Mikoto attended alongside Akina, Hikari, Nao Inabe, Suo, and Kuon, with Taizo as their counselor. She bonded with Hikari there. The camp ended abruptly following an incident involving ruins and Sybilt, leading to suppressed memories for most attendees, which Mikoto later recalls, reinforcing her ties to the group.

Within the Fated Clash, Mikoto realizes her initial wish – presumably tied to her identity or career – can be achieved through her own actions, independent of the tournament's outcome. This self-realization contrasts with participants like Akina and Masanori, whose wishes require supernatural intervention, emphasizing her character development around personal agency beyond her idol persona.

In cardfighting, Mikoto uses a Lyrical Monasterio deck centered on her ace unit, Fated One of Ever-changing, Krysrain. The strategy prioritizes playing cards with diverse unique names to empower Krysrain and supporting units, leading her to include low copies of numerous Lyrical Monasterio cards.
