Fujiko Tsuguta, a Japanese girl in the early 1900s, aspires to become a painter. She crosses paths with Chizuru, another Japanese girl passionate about ballet, during a chance meeting in Yokohama. Fueled by her artistic ambitions, Fujiko travels to Paris and reunites with Chizuru. Against a challenging historical backdrop, both pursue their dreams—Fujiko painting, Chizuru dancing—supporting each other as they strive toward their shared symbol of aspiration, the Étoile, despite hardships.
