Description
Donald Bachmann, alias Donny or "Trigger," commands a criminal syndicate from the port city of Barosela. He runs a grim enterprise recruiting and training war orphans, forging them into skilled assassins and enforcers for his organization. This operation puts him in direct conflict with the protagonists Song Ryang-ha and Chateau Dankworth, whom he actively pursues.
Donny's past intertwines significantly with Chateau's origins. Linked to the French Nobel aristocracy, targeted by Chateau's step-uncle Nelson Nobel, Donny assigned his apprentice—the original Korean student Song Ryang-ha—to escort young Chateau Nobel to safety. This mission ended tragically when Chateau accidentally killed the real Ryang-ha during their escape. A nameless child trafficking victim, previously rescued by the original Ryang-ha, subsequently adopted his identity and became the current Ryang-ha.
Though his precise motivations for targeting Chateau and Ryang-ha remain shadowed, his persistent focus on Chateau's Nobel lineage suggests his objectives involve leveraging her heritage. Flashbacks show him orchestrating events connected to her childhood. He strategically deploys subordinates like Jinon, Nikka, and Mifa to capture or eliminate the protagonists. Jinon notably coerces Chateau by threatening her adoptive mother, demonstrating Donny's ruthless exploitation of personal vulnerabilities.
His syndicate's clashes with Ryang-ha and Chateau escalate into explosive confrontations marked by gunfire and large-scale operations. These encounters force the protagonists into a precarious flight from his compound and constant evasion of his network while seeking refuge. Despite obstacles, Donny's influence remains a driving force in the central conflict, with unresolved questions lingering about his ultimate goals and the full extent of his historical involvement with the Nobel family.
