Description
Hakari Hanazono is a first-year student at Ohananomitsu High School and holds the distinction of being one of Aijou Rentarou’s first two girlfriends, alongside Karane Inda. She is a girl of average height with short pink hair styled in a bob, green eyes, and a notably curvaceous figure. Her appearance is often accentuated by the white flower-shaped hair clips she wears on both sides of her head.

Born into a wealthy family on June 22nd, Hakari presents herself to the world as a prim, proper, and elegant young lady. She carries herself with the grace expected of a rich heiress, which has earned her a reputation among her schoolmates. However, this refined exterior masks a personality that is radically different. In truth, Hakari is a cheerful and affectionate girl who is deeply, and often quite lustfully, in love with Rentarou. Her feelings for him are so intense that they frequently manifest as elaborate romantic and erotic fantasies. While she is classified as a deredere type for her loving and kind nature, her overwhelming sex drive when it comes to her boyfriend is a defining trait.

Hakari’s primary motivation is her love for Rentarou. She was the first of the two initial girlfriends to confess her feelings to him. She constantly devises schemes and strategies, which she calls her "perfect plans," to get closer to him, initiate physical contact, or create intimate situations. Her intelligence is notable; she performs well academically, ranking in the top 25 of her entire year, but she primarily uses her cleverness for romantic pursuits rather than scholastic ones. Her scheming nature is so central to her character that her very name contains a homophone for the Japanese word meaning "scheme".

In the story, Hakari serves as one of the foundational pillars of Rentarou's ever-growing family of girlfriends. Her relationship with Karane Inda is particularly significant and complex. They are close friends who share a deep mutual love for Rentarou, but their interactions are often marked by bickering and comedic rivalry. This tension is complicated by an ambiguous attraction between them, as they have unconsciously kissed each other on multiple occasions while thinking about Rentarou. Her most pivotal relationship outside of Rentarou is with her mother, Hahari Hanazono. Hahari initially disapproved of Hakari dating Rentarou, going so far as to confine her to their mansion. However, after a confrontation, Hahari herself fell in love with Rentarou and became one of his girlfriends, creating the unique and often awkward dynamic where mother and daughter share the same boyfriend. Despite this, Hakari loves her mother dearly, though she is frequently embarrassed by Hahari's even more overt perversions and immature behavior. Hakari also plays a supportive role among the other girlfriends, using her confidence to help those like Yamame Yasashiki feel more secure in their own bodies.

Over the course of the series, Hakari’s character develops primarily through the expansion of Rentarou's family. While she remains steadfast in her love and lust for Rentarou, she grows more accustomed to sharing him. Her initial jealousy fades into a more mature acceptance, and she becomes a senior figure who helps newer girlfriends navigate their feelings and relationships. Her development is less about changing who she is and more about integrating her intense personality into a larger, chaotic, but loving polyamorous group.

Hakari possesses several notable abilities beyond her academic intelligence. Her most prominent skill is her talent for strategic planning, though her schemes are often comically foiled by circumstance or Rentarou's own pure-hearted nature. She also has access to the considerable resources of her wealthy family, which she occasionally uses for her romantic pursuits. Physically, she is known for her large G-cup bust, a trait she takes great pride in and which is a source of envy for some other girlfriends. Her distinctive laugh, often written as "mufufu," is a verbal tic that has become a recognizable part of her character, and her birthday on June 22nd is a direct wordplay reference to this laugh.
