TV-Series
Description
Kōhei Imamura is a first-year student at Izu University and one of the central figures in the series. He is introduced as a new student who moves to the Izu Peninsula with unrealistic expectations of college life, specifically dreaming of creating a harem of high school girls. His plans are quickly derailed when he is tricked by his future best friend, Iori Kitahara, into joining the university's diving club, Peek a Boo.

Standing out with his dark blond hair and a bishounen, or strikingly handsome, appearance, Kōhei is an unabashed and proud otaku. His personality is defined by his deep obsession with anime, manga, and voice actresses. This passion often distorts his social awareness, leading him to interpret real-life situations through the lens of his favorite fictional tropes. He is frequently seen wearing shirts emblazoned with anime characters, loudly proclaiming his devotion to his hobbies, and is easily manipulated by any mention or promise involving his favorite voice actress, Kaya Mizuki. Despite his eccentricities, Kōhei is not malicious. Beneath his otaku exterior lies a surprisingly loyal and capable individual who demonstrates unexpected resolve when his friends or his interests are threatened.

Kōhei's primary motivation throughout the story is to live out his anime-inspired fantasies, but as he becomes more entangled with the club, his goals shift. He finds himself increasingly involved in the chaotic, alcohol-fueled world of Peek a Boo, where the male members are known for their constant partying, heavy drinking, and casual nudity. While initially horrified, he quickly becomes an active participant in these antics. Within the club's dynamic, his role is that of Iori's best friend and comedic partner. Their friendship is marked by playful antagonism, constant scheming, and a deep, reliable bond that surfaces when they need to work together or support one another. Kōhei also shares a rivalry with Iori, often competing for attention or to avoid the worst of the club's pranks.

Key relationships define his social circle. His friendship with Iori is the most central, as they are often seen as a duo getting into trouble together. He also looks up to, and is frequently terrorized by, the club's senior members, Shinji Tokita and Ryuujirou Kotobuki, who are the ringleaders of most of Peek a Boo's wildest parties. While he initially dismisses Aina Yoshiwara, a fellow club member, their relationship develops as they become part of the same friend group. Hints are also dropped that Kōhei comes from a wealthy family, though this background is not a primary focus of his character.

Over the course of the series, Kōhei undergoes a subtle but noticeable development. While he never loses his core identity as an otaku, he grows more accustomed to the diving club's extreme lifestyle. His tolerance for alcohol, particularly the high-proof Spirytus that the club favors, increases to monstrous levels as he becomes inured to the constant drinking sessions. More importantly, he demonstrates a growing sense of maturity and loyalty, proving that he can be relied upon in serious situations, especially those involving scuba diving, which the club pursues with genuine passion and safety in mind. Despite his absurd demeanor, his ability to be a true friend when it counts becomes his most notable trait.

In terms of notable abilities, Kōhei possesses a few distinct skills. His most prominent is his encyclopedic knowledge of anime, voice actors, and related trivia, which he can recall and utilize at a moment's notice. This knowledge, while niche, occasionally proves useful in unexpected ways. He is also physically fit and adapts to the demands of scuba diving, learning the necessary skills alongside his peers. His handsome features, which contrast sharply with his otaku personality, are often a point of comedic irony in the series. Furthermore, as a result of his relentless training with the Peek a Boo club, he develops an extraordinarily high tolerance for alcohol, able to consume spirits with a 96% alcohol content as if it were water.
