TV-Series
Description
Michelle is a skilled swordsman and a hunter who initially operates alone within the dungeon. He is a young man with a handsome appearance and blond hair, which often makes him stand out to others. Despite his competent and capable exterior, Michelle struggles with a significant personal challenge: he suffers from severe social anxiety. This condition makes it incredibly difficult for him to hold normal conversations or interact with other people, which is the primary reason he chooses to work as a solo adventurer rather than joining a party.
His personality is defined by this internal conflict between his professional abilities and his social fears. He is not unfriendly by choice, but rather his anxiety creates a barrier that he finds nearly impossible to cross. An interesting facet of his character is that he does not feel this nervousness around the protagonist, Boxxo. Because Boxxo is a vending machine and lacks a human appearance, Michelle can interact with him without the paralyzing tension that human encounters provoke. This unique comfort allows him to form a connection with Boxxo that he cannot easily achieve with others.
Michelle's role in the story begins when he crosses paths with the main group, particularly Lammis and Hulemy. Recognizing his skill but also witnessing his isolation, the group provides opportunities for him to participate in their investigations. A turning point for Michelle occurs when he helps Lammis after she collapses due to feeling unwell. This act of assistance and the subsequent interaction serve as a breakthrough, allowing him to gradually open up. He begins to engage with Lammis and her companions without the same level of tension that previously plagued him, marking the start of his character development.
There is a mysterious and dangerous element to Michelle's background. He has been the target of multiple assassination attempts, facing periodic attacks from unknown assailants. He appears to have some knowledge of who might be behind these attempts, but he does not speak about it, leaving the identity of his enemy a secret. This past continues to haunt him, as he is attacked even while accompanying Lammis's group on their investigations. For safety reasons, he sometimes chooses to separate from the party and travel to different dungeon levels alone. Later in his journey, he comes into contact with a group known as the Company of the Fool and temporarily joins them. He also reunites with his former companions on the Floor of the Dead's Lament, collaborating with them to defeat the boss of that floor.
In terms of abilities, Michelle is primarily recognized as a capable swordsman. His combat skills are sufficient for him to survive as a solo hunter, a dangerous profession that requires significant self-reliance. While his social anxiety limits his ability to work in teams, his physical prowess with a blade is never in question, and he proves to be a valuable ally in battle when he overcomes his personal barriers to fight alongside others.
