TV-Series
Description
Hyūrumi is a brilliant and strong-willed magical device engineer and the childhood friend of Lammis, one of the main characters in the series. She is a tall woman whose confident posture and somewhat unconventional, wild style reflect her assertive personality.
Her demeanor is forceful and direct, often speaking in a rough, almost gangster-like tone that underscores her tough exterior. Beneath this abrasive surface, however, lies a passionate researcher and a fiercely loyal friend. Hyūrumi is analytical and driven by scientific curiosity, a trait that led to numerous mishaps during her childhood. While she possesses no talent for combat, she consistently demonstrates courage and a sharp analytical mind, which prove invaluable to her companions.
Hyūrumi shares a deep history with Lammis, as both lost their homes to monsters and became orphans at a young age. This shared past has forged a strong bond between them. Her primary motivation is her passion for invention and understanding complex magical devices. She is not driven by a desire for battle but by the thrill of discovery and problem-solving. In the story, she acts as the team's technical advisor and analyst. Her role becomes critical when she is kidnapped by a gang of thieves who want her to analyze Boxxo, the vending machine protagonist, and extract his gold. Under duress, she studies him intently and is the first to deduce that a human soul resides within the machine.
Her key relationships include her close friendship with Lammis and a unique partnership with Boxxo, built on mutual respect and scientific curiosity. She also accompanies Suori to exhibitions and competitions for magical devices, and shares a special moment of gratitude with the character Shui.
Hyūrumi undergoes significant development through her ordeals. After being rescued from the thieves' hideout by Lammis and the others, a stored explosive detonates, causing a cave-in. Boxxo protects her with a barrier and later uses gold coins to power a shield. When the air runs out, he saves her again by transforming into an oxygen vending machine. Later, while exploring a dungeon as the team's researcher, she is captured by the King of Souls and suffers cardiac arrest from an electric shock. Following the enemy's defeat, she is successfully revived thanks to Boxxo's defibrillator function and Lammis's chest compressions.
Hyūrumi's notable abilities lie entirely outside of physical combat. Her primary strengths are her technical expertise and keen observational skills. She can analyze extraordinary magical devices, instantly grasp complex systems, and often be the first to uncover hidden secrets. Her ingenuity and fearless approach to experimentation make her an irreplaceable asset to the group, even though she relies on others for protection in dangerous situations.
