Hina Tsuruno lives with Rin Namiki, Misa Aoi, and other girls in a house owned by her mother, Minato Tsuruno. She prepares all meals for the residents.

Rin Namiki recruited Hina into the school's Jet Racing Club to help formalize it, successfully persuading her primarily with offers of food. Though a member, Hina does not race; instead, she provides food for the club. She joined the others in taking part-time work when the club needed funds for a vital replacement part for their Orcano jet ski.
