Koharu Fuyutsuki is a freshman university student living in Tsukishima, Tokyo, who is blind. She laughs often, speaks openly about her dreams, and does not let her condition prevent her from fully participating in university life, attending classes, making friends, and showing interest in clubs. Her greatest wish is to launch fireworks, a dream that seems paradoxical given her blindness but reflects her desire for shared joy and meaningful experiences. This aspiration becomes a driving force in the story and symbolically represents her outlook on life. Koharu forms a deep bond with Kakeru Sorano, a shy and introverted classmate whom she meets at a welcome party. Through their relationship, her unwavering optimism and resilience gradually encourage him to step out of his shell and become more engaged with the world. She also maintains friendships with other students such as Yuuko Hayase and Ushio Narumi.
