Aoi Tōdō is a third-year student at Kyoto Jujutsu High who holds the rank of Grade 1 sorcerer. Born on September 23 into a family of non-sorcerers, his rise to power within the jujutsu world is an exceptional feat. As a child, his overwhelming physical strength made daily life feel mundane and boring, a feeling that drove him to become a sorcerer. Everything changed when he met the Special Grade sorcerer Yuki Tsukumo, who asked him what his type of woman was. This question gave his life new direction, and she became his mentor. The prominent scar running down the left side of his face is a permanent mark left from her intense training. Tōdō possesses an extremely eccentric and boisterous personality, driven by a love for combat and a deep hatred of boredom. He is notorious for asking people he meets what kind of person their type is, believing that an individual's answer reveals their entire character. His own type is tall women with large behinds, and he is an avid fan of the pop idol Takada-chan. Despite his brash and muscle-headed appearance, Tōdō is an exceptionally sharp and gifted tactical thinker who can analyze complex combat situations in fractions of a second. His innate cursed technique is named Boogie Woogie, which allows him to instantly swap the positions of any two objects that possess cursed energy by clapping his hands together. He is also capable of using a Simple Domain and landing the devastating Black Flash. Initially an opponent during the Kyoto Goodwill Event, Tōdō attacks Yuji Itadori but pauses to ask about his type. When Yuji gives the same answer about tall women with large behinds, Tōdō is so overjoyed that he declares Yuji his best friend and brother, becoming a devoted teacher and partner. He helps Yuji master the flow of cursed energy, leading directly to Yuji's first use of Black Flash. During the Shibuya Incident, after witnessing a despairing Yuji ready to give up, Tōdō arrives and delivers a powerful speech that forces Yuji to continue fighting. In the ensuing battle with the cursed spirit Mahito, Tōdō loses his left hand to prevent Mahito's transfiguration from spreading. Despite this crippling loss, he continues to fight, later adapting by using a vibraslap prosthesis to trigger his technique, demonstrating his relentless ingenuity.
