Description
Suzune Miyama is a 14-year-old contestant in the seventh season of a national idol audition reality show, hailing from Saitama Prefecture as the North Kanto representative. Her childhood involved chronic health issues, including a heart condition requiring extended hospitalization. During those hospital stays, she frequently listened to songs by Akari Amasawa, the legendary winner of the competition's first season. Akari's music provided Suzune comfort and motivation, inspiring her to become an idol who could similarly encourage others.
At the regional qualifiers, Suzune collapsed during her performance of Akari's song "Only one yell," resulting in her loss to Seira Kurusu. Seira later withdrew from the main competition to study abroad, allowing Suzune to take her place as the North Kanto representative. This positioned Suzune among the nine regional winners at the central lodge facility in Tokyo.
For the first round, Suzune was paired with vocal specialist Rena Hananoi to form the subunit Suzu☆Rena. Their initial dynamic was strained by Rena's reluctance to collaborate and her knowledge of Suzune's qualifier collapse. Tension escalated when Rena, revealed as Akari Amasawa's younger sister, discovered Suzune had received Akari's donated heart. Despite this conflict, the subunit reconciled through their shared admiration for Akari, culminating in an unrehearsed, synchronized performance of Akari's song "B.B."
Within the larger nine-member group 9-tie, Suzune participated in collective decisions that challenged the competition's rules. Faced with eliminating two members in the second round, all participants chose self-elimination, resulting in a nine-way tie and temporary disqualification. The group then formed an independent unit, with Suzu☆Rena tasked with lyric composition. Their unified stance ultimately compelled the producers to reinstate them for a finale where all nine would win or lose together.
Suzune exhibits a bright, positive, and energetic demeanor. Her visual motif is red, contrasting with Rena's dark blue, reflecting their divergent personalities. Her development progresses from an individual dreamer inspired by Akari to a collaborative idol who values collective bonds over individual success.
