ONA
Description
Mammon is a demon and one of the main characters in Obey Me. He is the second oldest of seven demon brothers and serves as the Avatar of Greed. Formerly an angel, he fell to the Devildom alongside his siblings. Physically, he has messy white hair, tanned skin, and distinctive blue and yellow gradient eyes. His birthday is September 10, and he dislikes work.

Mammon is characterized by a loud, brash, and often immature demeanor. He is intensely greedy for money and material possessions, frequently seeking ways to profit from any situation. He habitually brags, calling himself the Great Mammon, but is often dismissed by others as an idiot scumbag. Despite his rough exterior, he is surprisingly sensitive and empathetic, often being the first among his brothers to notice when something is wrong with someone. He is prone to flustering easily and displays a vulnerable side that contrasts with his bravado. He is deeply insecure about his place within the demon hierarchy and craves validation.

His motivations are rooted in a desire for security and freedom, which he associates with financial independence. Having grown up in the harsh environment of the Devildom, he views wealth as a means to ensure his own safety and autonomy. This underlying need makes his greed more than just surface-level materialism. He also shows a deep yearning to be loved and accepted, which often conflicts with his self-centered tendencies.

In the story, Mammon is the first of the demon brothers to form a pact with the main character, acting as their buddy and guide through the Devildom. He is frequently assigned to accompany the main character and appears in many episodes, often behaving poorly yet showing devoted loyalty. He plays a central role in the narrative as both a protagonist and ally, and his actions frequently drive comedic and dramatic moments. He tends to get into trouble due to his schemes, but also steps up when his loved ones are in danger.

Key relationships include his dynamic with his eldest brother Lucifer, who often scolds and looks down on him, creating tension. He has a competitive and sometimes antagonistic relationship with Leviathan. Notably, all six of his brothers are said to look down on him to some degree. His most significant bond is with the main character, toward whom he displays both a possessive attachment and genuine care. He attempts to impress the main character while often denying his feelings, showing a soft spot that he tries to hide.

Throughout the narrative, Mammon experiences growth as he confronts his feelings of inadequacy and learns to balance his greed with authentic emotional connections. He faces situations where he must choose between material gain and protecting those he cares about, and these moments push him toward personal development. He sacrifices material advantages for the sake of others, demonstrating a capacity for selflessness that belies his greedy nature.

Mammon possesses abilities tied to greed, including the power to manipulate wealth, currency, and material possessions. He can summon gold and other objects, and he has a talent for bargaining and underhanded tactics. His combat style relies on agility and cleverness rather than brute force. His powers evolve over time to incorporate emotional depth, blurring the line between material greed and emotional wealth. His main limitation is his over-reliance on material possessions and his tendency to overextend himself during emotional struggles.

Mammon seems less comfortable with his demonic identity than his brothers, often downplaying his demonic heritage and showing more interest in simple pleasures than in dark arts or power. This internal conflict adds complexity to his character, hinting at a desire to break free from the constraints of his nature. He is especially vulnerable to witches, who are noted as his biggest weakness.
