ONA
Description
Leona Kingscholar is a third-year student at Night Raven College and the housewarden of Savanaclaw dormitory. He is the second prince of the Sunset Savanna, a position that instills in him an imperious and condescending attitude toward others. Physically, he is tall with medium-brown skin, thick dark-brown hair that falls below his shoulders, and long bangs that often obscure his eyes; two sections of hair on either side of his face are braided and tied with yellow bands. Despite his powerful magical abilities, Leona is perpetually averse to effort and frequently appears lazy and leisurely. This contrast between immense talent and lack of ambition is a defining trait. His intelligence and cunning are considerable, but his reluctance to apply himself—such as missing important final exams—caused him to repeat two school years.

In the Episode of Heartslabyul, Leona appears only briefly near the end, already looking ahead to the upcoming interdorm Spelldrive tournament. While the main conflict of the season centers on Heartslabyul’s housewarden Riddle Rosehearts, Leona is shown lounging in his dorm, discussing strategy with his loyal underclassman Ruggie Bucchi. He boasts that winning the tournament requires both brains and brawn, claiming he possesses both in abundance, and declares he intends to take everything. This scene establishes him as a confident, ambitious rival who will play a larger role in future story arcs.

Leona’s motivations are rooted in his royal upbringing. As the secondborn son, he accepts that he will never inherit the throne, and this perceived lack of destiny fuels a simmering resentment. He often masks deeper insecurities with arrogance and a dismissive demeanor. His key relationships include his older brother Farena, whom he regards as carefree, and his nephew Cheka, who is attached to him. Within the school, his closest ally is Ruggie Bucchi, a resourceful and pragmatic student who helps carry out Leona’s plans.

Leona’s most notable ability is his Unique Magic, King’s Roar, which allows him to turn any object he touches into sand after a short chant. This power, combined with his naturally high magical reserves and exceptional launch speed, makes him a formidable mage. His strategic mind further enhances his effectiveness in combat and competition. Despite his outward laziness, when motivated—especially by competition or personal ambition—Leona proves to be a sharp and dangerous opponent. His role in the Episode of Heartslabyul is a brief but meaningful introduction, hinting at the complexities and conflicts that will unfold in later episodes centered on Savanaclaw.
