Description
Shinju-hime belongs to the Jumi race, identified by jewel cores within their chests. Her pearl core signifies purity and innocence, opposing the chaos and warfare embodied by the black pearl core of her alter ego, Lady Blackpearl. Born from Lady Blackpearl’s damaged core after an attack by Alexandra (Sandra), Shinju-hime was discovered in the Duma Desert by Elazul and became his guardian. She exhibits a timid, compassionate, and docile nature, frequently becoming lost during deep thought and readily apologizing without self-defense. Her wandering tendencies initiate key events.

Initially found lost and hiding from monsters in Mekiv Caverns, she accepts aid, provides artifacts, and departs with Elazul. Later, discovered disoriented on Luon Highway, she unknowingly triggers a search for Elazul, highlighting her recurring trait. At the Tower of Leires, drawn to a room rumored to reveal the past, she encounters Lady Blackpearl, resulting in battle. Sandra ambushes her afterward to steal her core, but she resists with help.

Fearing solitude, she seeks refuge in Domina. Elazul reluctantly allows her to stay safely at the protagonist’s home. Sandra later kidnaps her to Mekiv Caverns, threatening core removal unless she cries to heal the injured Elazul. Praying for strength, she transforms into Lady Blackpearl, unveiling their dual existence: Shinju-hime’s timidity and naivety contrasting Lady Blackpearl’s confidence, pride, and combat skills as the Knight of Florina. Lady Blackpearl confronts Sandra before vanishing.

Subsequently, Lady Blackpearl undergoes hypnosis to become the next Clarius. After a confrontation, Shinju-hime reverts and reunites with Elazul. They visit Diana, the Jumi of Diamond, to unlock her petrified heart. Sandra’s theft of Diana’s core devastates them, though Shinju-hime notices an unusually colored gem left behind.

Journeying to Florina’s dreamscape, she encounters Lady Blackpearl, who resists reverting. In Florina’s sanctuary, she transforms again and accompanies the protagonist to the Bejeweled City. Depending on choices, either Shinju-hime or Elazul faces core theft by the Lord of Jewels. If present, Shinju-hime battles as Lady Blackpearl against Sandra and the Lord of Jewels. Enraged by Elazul’s core theft, she fights fiercely. Post-victory, the protagonist revives deceased Jumi by shedding a tear but turns to stone. Shinju-hime then cries with others, generating another Teardrop Crystal that revives the protagonist, culminating in the Jumi’s restoration.

Afterward, Shinju-hime and Lady Blackpearl permanently reside in the Bejeweled City. Shinju-hime appears in the Glowing Corridor except on Jinn days, while Lady Blackpearl occupies the Throne of the Clarius during Jinn days. Physically, Shinju-hime has long blonde hair with loose ringlets and green eyes. She wears a white dress with red trim, red cuffs, pearl adornments, white shoes, and displays her pearl core prominently. The anime adaptation depicts golden blonde hair, blue-green eyes, and a dark gray underskirt with gray mosaic designs. Her journey evolves from vulnerability to resilience, integrating both personas after the revival.
